Vellamo's bottles feature UPM Raflatac Forest Film PPTM, the world's first and only wood-based polypropylene plastic label material. This transparent label material is constructed from UPM BioVerno naphtha, a 100 percent wood-based solution made from tall oil, a residue of pulp production, originating from sustainably managed forests.

UPM Raflatac, a global leading manufacturer of pressure sensitive labels, is pleased to announce it has joined the U.S. Plastics Pact. This collaborative, soltuions-driven initiative is rooted in four ambitious goals intended to drive significant systems change by unifying diverse cross-sector approaches, setting a national strategy, and creating scalable solutions to create a path forward toward a circular economy for plastics in the United States by 2025. The first North AMerican Pact of its kind, the U.S. Pact is a collaboration led by The Recycling Partnership, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Ellen MacArthur Foundation.

Toray Develops World's First Waterless Offset Printing Press

-Eliminates VOC in printing on flexible packaging for food, etc. and realizes about 80% in energy saving- Toray Industries, Inc. announced today (March 14 2019) that it has succeeded in the development of a waterless offset printing press for the first time in the world, jointly with Miyakoshi printing Machinery Co., Ltd. and others in a New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) project, to be used in printing on flexible packaging materials for familiar products such as lifestyle goods and food products.
